My Handmade Christmas (I) :: Christmas decorations

{Scroll down for English}

Christmas is approaching at an abnormal speed. I feel that I have done very little of what I had planned and I'm living with the illusion that the next 3 weeks will be double productive.

Entering in the spirit of the season, living in the Middle East, requires some willpower. There are no little Jesus, sparkling streets, shiny christmas trees in every corner, angels, stars, christmas choirs, breathtaking displays, santa claus and pretending or real snow.
Christmas items can, however, be found more easily than I'd anticipated. In much less quantity, and arranged as discreetly as possible, but the reality is that it is very easy to find a christmas tree. And ours is ready and steady. Lights connected and star properly placed, since last 24 of November.

This year I decided to make our christmas tree decorations in plaster.
Initially, I planed leaving them like that. In that beautiful white. But then I thought that with a toddler in the house, we had to double the fun, and decided to paint them.

Our christmas tree hasn't won the prize, for the most perfect decorations, once again, (there were always too many shakings on the table), but she tells us that she's very proud to carry on her branches all these perfect imperfections.
(You can review the handmade decorations from previous years here and here).

If you're about to start your christmas decorations, I leave you with the idea: Gather the kids together and raise the ordinary to the extraordinary. Build happy moments with them. Isn't it what  this season is all about, after all?
